IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (6662) 1993 BP13 / TYC 2324-00420-1 event on 2008 Oct 15, 13:44 UT Visible from near New Zealand Summary ------- On 2008 Oct 15 UT, the 17 km diameter asteroid (6662) 1993 BP13 will occult a 10.2 mag star in the constellation Triangulum for observers along a path across near New Zealand. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 5.2 mag to 15.4 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 1.8 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Alice Monet, historical astrometry from the MPC files (via AstDys), and the following catalogs for the star position: UCAC.
